Di Chan runs ICP Group Australia with her husband, and describes herself as a private person by nature – but she was thrust into the global spotlight last week when she was working at Drake’s concerts in Perth, and the Canadian superstar called her ‘fine as hell’.

Their interaction went viral, but Di didn’t seek to capitalise on her sudden fame – nor did she want her decade-long career defined by that moment.

Instead, she’s chosen to use it to encourage more women to work in the security industry.

“I think that goes on the old perspective of, you know, ‘you need two burly guys to man the door’, but security is needed across so many events,” she told Nadia Mitsopoulos.

“We’re finding that women and children of the public are more likely to approach a female security guard.”

“I just feel like there needs to be an emphasis on why women should get into security, because there’s a lot of development to be made.”

“This is where I’ve formed so much of my character, my resilience, and how I deal with people. And you can see from that video, I’m not starstruck.”
